New FIT Proposed Decision Templates on SSA Website
SSA has posted on its web site new Findings Integrated Templates (FIT) for fully favorable Adult and SSI Child disability decisions.

See www.ssa.gov/appeals/fit.

According to the web site, representatives may now submit proposed FIT draft decisions using the documents provided. If an Administrative Law Judge agrees with the proposed decision, the hearing office staff will be able to easily convert the information and rationale contained in the document into a FIT favorable decision, assuming the document has been completed correctly.

This website previously provided representatives the same software used by Hearing Office staff but the software proved difficult in practice for some representatives to use, and SSA could not offer representatives systems support. SSA removed the software and instead is providing two FIT proposed draft decision documents in MS Word. If accepted by the ALJ, Hearing Office staff will convert the draft into a fully favorable decision.

The website includes instructions for downloading and completing the FIT template and for submitting it to the ALJ. Registered users of Electronic Records Express (ERE) can submit the proposed decision electronically.
