Paralegal {Specifying in Fees and Accounting} (McChesney and McChesney)

Location: Spartanburg, SC

We are looking for you if you are an intelligent person who has excellent organizational skills, excellent math skills, an excellent work ethic, and such excellent people skills that you can get along with anyone under any possible circumstance.

You do not need to have previous exposure to Social Security Disability law, to Quickbooks, to our Prevail database, or to any of the tasks in the list below. But we do require that you have basic computer skills, strong people skills, an ability to handle stressful situations, strong math skills, good organizational skills, an ability to get along well with co-employees, an ability to diplomatically handle even difficult clients, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. We will teach you everything else you need to know.

We will train you to handle the following tasks:

  • Answering client’s questions and concerns
  • Communicating with each client about fees and costs at certain set times
  • Contacting clients to recover costs
  • Resolving concerns of upset clients
  • Keeping meticulous account in Quickbooks and Prevail for all cases
  • Drafting fee petitions
  • Communicating with the Social Security office
  • Balancing bank accounts
  • Maintaining spreadsheets:
  • Keeping track of the status of all cases after favorable decision
  • Taking action on each case at the appropriate time

Further details:

  • This is an in-person job at the Spartanburg office: 930 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Hours: 9-5 Monday through Friday
  • We plan a 3-month trial period
  • We do not offer health insurance or retirement but we do offer short and long term disability, paid vacation days, sick days, and paid time off.
