Paralegal (SSD Practice Group)

Location: Spokane, WA

Gravis Law, PLLC is seeking a Paralegal/Senior Paralegal to join its Spokane office location. The Paralegal will primarily work on Social Security Disability matters but may also perform work on matters in other practice groups (Family Law, Estate and Probate, Criminal Defense) depending on the Paralegal’s skill and interest in such work. A Paralegal in the Social Security Disability practice group at Gravis Law is generally responsible for assisting attorneys with drafting, reviewing, preparing, proofreading, and analyzing legal documents on matters involving eligibility and benefits through Social Security Administration.

Other responsibilities of the Paralegal will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing attorney dockets to ensure that all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing files and conferring with attorneys to discuss the status of the file as well as upcoming deadlines.
  • Assisting attorneys with preparing for client meetings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trial, trial, etc.
  • Drafting client correspondence.
  • Maintaining client files.
  • Communicating with clients on a very regular basis.
  • Conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents.
  • Efficiently and consistently providing superior service to clients.
  • Drafting and reviewing written discovery including e-discovery.
  • Covering the front desk and phones when necessary to ensure that clients and other office visitors receive prompt and professional service.
  • Maintaining a well-respected reputation amongst clients, opposing counsel, Judges, Court staff, and colleagues.
  • All other duties as assigned.



  • 1+ years of professional experience as a paralegal required; prior experience with SSDI strongly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Common sense, great judgment, and a positive and willing attitude.
  • Must be a team player who enjoys working with and supporting the other attorneys and employees in the firm.

Hourly wage starts at $16.00 per hour and is based on experience (1+ years of experience required).
