March 19, 2021—The National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) congratulates newly confirmed Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra.

NOSSCR looks forward to continuing its strong relationship with Secretary Becerra, who is a past recipient of NOSSCR’s “Award for Excellence in Social Security Disability Advocacy.”   Secretary Becerra’s experience as Attorney General of California and as a 12 term Member of the House of Representatives provides him with the perfect resume to lead the Department during these challenging times.

NOSSCR’s Executive Director, Barbara Silverstone, Esq. said, “President Biden has chosen a superb leader in Secretary Becerra.  NOSSCR has had the pleasure of working with Secretary Becerra for many years. We know his strong leadership and integrity will be crucial in leading HHS through the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that our nation’s SSI and SSDI programs remain strong.”

NOSSCR stands ready to work with Secretary Becerra, HHS, and the Biden Administration to enhance and strengthen our nation’s social insurance programs.
