Payment Center Phone Update
July 13, 2026
This week, SSA rolled out a new directive regarding how to contact the payment centers (PC). Previously, for Title II cases, there was a long list of phone numbers for claimants under 54 and claimants 54 and older with various lines to call depending on the claimants’ SSN. Now, SSA has centralized all of those numbers under the Representative Call Center (RCC), and advises that all representatives call that line for any payment or fee issues on a Title II case.
The RCC can be reached at 877-626-6363. Please use patience as this office adjusts to their new call volume, but also keep NOSSCR informed on what you’re experiencing as you call this office so we can monitor its success and report out any widespread problems.
For SSI cases, please continue to call the local field office (FO) for any payment or fee issues. The FO locator tool still works, though for many offices it only lists the main 800#. If that’s the case, you can find the FO’s actual number by downloading this spreadsheet. (This spreadsheet can be found by visiting this page and then downloading the document on the right side of the page labeled Field Offices Information).
If the RCC (Title II) or FO (SSI) is not responsive, both types of claims can be escalated to the Regional Communications Directors (RCD). The RCD’s contact information can be found here.
