NOSSCR Attends Make America Healthy Again Summit

November 20, 2025

MAHA Summit Features Discussion with Vice President J.D. Vance and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Vice President J.D. Vance and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, participated in a discussion at the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Summit held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C. The conversation focused on “unconventional thinking” and new approaches to public policy, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of independent perspectives, open dialogue, and a willingness to challenge long-standing assumptions. Vice President Vance highlighted these traits as essential to navigating the nation’s current political and economic environment, while Secretary Kennedy underscored the role of innovation in federal health policy.

For NOSSCR, the event provided a timely opportunity to observe how senior administration officials are framing broader policy conversations that may influence federal priorities in the months ahead. Senior Policy Advisor David Camp and Government Affairs Director Betsy Rosecan attended on behalf of NOSSCR, engaging with attendees and monitoring discussions that could shape cross-agency coordination on issues affecting claimants. Although Social Security was not a central topic, themes related to administrative modernization, interagency cooperation, and the role of federal leadership in improving public-facing services have clear implications for the disability adjudication process and NOSSCR’s ongoing advocacy.
